The 2nd day of the ninth PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week’16 was held on March 11th, 2016. This season marks the fourteenth fashion week originated by PFDC with 8 weeks of prêt-à-porter and 5 of bridal fashion, and expresses PFDC’s commitment sustainability and discipline within the business of fashion and the facilitation of Pakistan’s retail industry. Indeed PSFW16 endeavors to define and present trends for 2016, focusing specifically on fashion for the regions' long hot summer months. The Day-2 of the fashion week featured prét-a-porter shows by Nomi Ansari, Ali Xeeshan Theater Studio, Sania Maskatiya, MAHGUL, Nickie Nina and Karma Pink.
The PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2016 team comprises of HSY as the event producer and show choreographer with Nabila N Pro/NGENTs as official stylists, front stage management by Maheen Kardar Ali and the PIFD student team, backstage management by Product 021 and the PIFD student team, logistics by Brandlogics, event consultancy by Eleventh Experience, Digital Agency Pakka Papita, PFDC’s official spokesperson Kamiar Rokni, official red carpet host Rehan Babar, The PFDC Destination Man on the Scene RJ Khalid Malik, photography by Faisal Farooqui and the team at Dragonfly, Hum TV as official media partners, CityFM89 as the Official Radio Partners with all media management by Lotus Client Management & Public Relations.
Day-2 of the prêt-à-porter shows was opened by the renowned designer Nomi Ansari showcasing his luxury prét collection titled “Joyride”. Taking inspiration from the present, the collection shows a vibrant reflection of what is happening around us in the moment and celebrates the vibrancy that comes with today’s fast paced environment. The silhouettes were structured and defined using the entire color palette with a generous use of flashy tints and bright hues. With silken as a base, the fabrics used were luxurious satins, chiffons and georgettes with prints of different fabric types and feels where all the prints were created in house which are an amalgamation of pop art and high fashion. In men’s collection, Nomi Ansari showcased a line of funky jackets, vests and pants with intricate details and motifs of pop art elements with lots of accessories including some funky shoes. Renowned television and music personality Junaid Khan walked the ramp as the brand’s celebrity showstopper.
