L’Oréal is present in Pakistan since 2009. L'Oréal is a French cosmetics company headquartered in Clichy, Hauts-de-Seine with a registered office in Paris. Today the subsidiary covers a range of brands from the Group’s Consumer and Professional Products divisions, including L’Oréal Paris, Garnier, Maybelline New York, L’Oréal Professionnel, Kerastase and Essie. ‘ICARE’ is the official NGO, headed by Mrs. Mehreen Syed – it is officially registered under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860. L’Oreal Paris has started a 3 months program with the collaboration of ‘ICARE’. The main aim of this program is to provide help to under privileged people of Pakistan, by imparting them training free of cost, in expert make-up abilities, which are state of the art, in a short span of time. Enabling them to get employment with dignity, self-respect and elevated sense of self-esteem. The program is named ‘Beauty for Better Life’. On 24th August 2016, in Lahore this partnership hosted a graduation ceremony of its first batch of qualified personnel. The graduation ceremony started with a welcome note by Ms. Shahzain Hafeez, Product Manager, L’Oréal Pakistan who spoke concisely about the program. This was followed by media addresses from General Manager DPP L'Oréal Pakistan, Mr.Salman Amjad and Ms. Mehreen Syed, (Chairperson ICARE) All speakers shared their thoughts on the inauguration of this educational program in Pakistan. This was followed by Certificates distribution Ceremony and group photographs of the graduates. The primary beneficiaries of ‘Beauty for a Better Life’ program in Pakistan are ladies from humble backgrounds, and working women of low income groups. The ‘Beauty for a Better Life’ program organizes modified theoretical and practical teaching curricula, delivered by renowned instructors exclusively dedicated to this program. This program admits limited number of students, so that individual attention is given, and proper grooming of participants is undertaken, with special attention to elevation of self-efficacy and self-esteem. The training will take place in a dedicated institute namely ‘The International Fashion Academy Pakistan’ IFAP which will help meet the needs of this program.
