The Women Of Excellence Awards UK

The Women Of Excellence Awards was held at: House of Lords, Parliament, UK  On the 13th June 2017, in the presence of: Baroness Anne Jenkins of Kennington , Baroness Meral Hussain-Ece of Highbury, Mr Ashok Verma as representive for Baroness Sandip Verma.  The awards were co-created and co- presented by Gulrukh Khan, Chair of ALL London / UK (also a multi-award winning Film Maker and Holistic Specialist) and Margaret Ali - Director of Universal Peace Federation UK - to celebrate high levels of achievements by women from diverse ethnic and vocational backgrounds and age groups, living and working in the UK.  The awardees included fourteen women, who shared heart warming and courageous stories about their achievements and what lead them to reach their social and career positions.  Some of the more public profiled awardees included: Samantha Simmonds (Sky New Anchor, BBC and public speaker), who has covered major stories – reporting on the 9/11 events in New York, the 7/7 attacks in London, the Iraq War, the death of pop icon Michael Jackson and the murder of MP Jo Cox); the performing artist Sinitta, also known for her role on the TV Show X Factor. (Sinitta was accompanied by George Hargreaves, who wrote her hit song So Macho, and her mother Miquel Brown who is an acclaimed performing artist in her own right); Martha Fiennes – an award winning film maker (whose siblings include celebrated actors Ralph and Joseph Fiennes, record producer Magnus Fiennes and documentary film maker Sophie Fiennes); Rebeca Riofrio – the founder of Art In Fusion TV which covers major artists, fashion, music and film festivals around the world and is also an official media partner at Cannes Film Festival; Ralitsa Dzambazova – world power lifting champion.  Other awardees included:  Danielle Brooke, Haifa Al Tai, Nicola Bailey, Dr Karen Johnson, Ruth Mutanda, Rana Nazir, Samar Rassam, Nazia Khatun, Dr Pauline Long.  The All ladies League is one of the fastest growing international forums for women with over 60,000 global members. It was originally founded in India in 2013 by Dr Harbeen Arora, but now has ethnically diverse representatives all over the world.Their signature event is the Women Economic Forum (WEF) held in Delhi every year, which attracts between 1500 to 2000 people over five days of intensive plenary sessions and workshops.  WEF is also attended by dignitaries, celebrities and Forbes listed business leaders.
