Q- Tell us something about yourself.
Hi, my name is Darien. I grew up in Vancouver- around creative, inspiring people. From a young age, I knew I had many ideas I wanted to put into art. I started as a model from 14–21, took everything I could from that, and flipped it to photography. I have been a portrait photographer for 9 years now, and I have lots more to come! My main love for photography is the natural beauty my models bring to me and using the nature around us here in beautiful British Columbia.

Q- What skills are required to be a successful photographer?
People, people, people! If you can't connect with people, you won't be able to become a successful photographer. You need to find the beauty that they uniquely have. You may have an idea, but that idea may not work for that subject.

Q-What makes you different from other photographers?
Oh, well, I believe I have my own certain style of editing. I have had a few photographers tell me it is my work just from other models posting their shoots with me and they're like " yep, that's Darien!" I believe I stand out a bit because I don't over-edit my subjects either, I do soft editing but I truly want to keep their unique ways easy for the eyes to see.
