Istanbul Modest Fashion Week 2024 recently concluded, and it was nothing short of a resounding success. Held at the historic Fisekhane – Gallery in Istanbul, this event marked the 9th edition of the renowned Modest Fashion Weeks by Think Fashion series. From April 25th to 27th, attendees were treated to a packed schedule including 24 fashion shows, 29 brand booths, 11 talk shows, experience points, and a mini art gallery, providing a comprehensive and engaging fashion experience as promised.
Under the theme of “A Unique Fashion Call for Solidarity,” Istanbul Modest Fashion Week 2024 brought together a diverse array of designers, brands, influencers, industry leaders, retailers, media professionals, and fashion enthusiasts from around the globe. This event once again served as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and inspiration, fostering connections that transcend borders and boundaries.
Returning to its hometown of Istanbul for the first time since 2016, Modest Fashion Weeks by Think Fashion presented what they referred to as their "signature event." The overwhelming interest from fashion enthusiasts was evident, with a total of 2135 visitor guests over the course of three days. The event provided an exclusive fashion scene with a rich program, leaving attendees eagerly anticipating the next edition.
The runways of IMFW24 showcased a vibrant tapestry of styles, ranging from traditional attire to contemporary designs, setting new standards in the global fashion industry. Highlights included the emotional opening speech by CEO Ozlem Sahin Ertas, the glamorous haute couture collection by Turkish designer Hilal Oğuzkan, and appearances by modest fashion icons Halima Aden and Rawdah Mohamed.
Numerous brands impressed with their collections, each offering a unique perspective on modest fashion. From the botanical-themed ready-to-wear collection by Australian label Akkoia to the Palestinian haute couture collection by Sineen, there was something to captivate every audience member.
Social media figures added to the event's buzz, with influencers like Fatma Husam and Niki Shah gracing the runways as muses for respective brands. The presence of influential figures from around the world underscored the global impact of modest fashion.
As Istanbul Modest Fashion Week 2024 comes to a close, its legacy will continue to inspire and shape the future of modest fashion worldwide.
