Meet Anastasia Mason, a versatile artist whose career encompasses acting, modeling, interior design, and more. From her early days dancing and performing to her current ventures in the Film Industry, Anastasia's journey reflects a dedication to diverse creative pursuits.
Tell us about yourself. Why did you choose this career? Is there a story behind it?
Since childhood, my grandfather instilled in me the belief that I was destined to be an actress. From a young age, I immersed myself in the world of performing arts, participating in Latin American dance competitions and television shows. As I grew up in various countries with my Greek family, including Russia, Greece, and the UK, my passion for acting blossomed. Upon spending 14 years in the UK, I found my modeling career evolving into acting, especially within Bollywood and Lollywood. My interest in acting peaked at the age of 20, solidifying my dedication to this career path.
- With such a diverse range of roles, including modeling, TV presenting, makeup artistry, interior design, and choreography, how do you manage to find balance among these different creative pursuits?
Variety fuels my creativity. I thrive on organizing my schedule to engage in various creative endeavors and networking across different industries. As the founder of AN Design Group Ltd, an interior design firm in Knightsbridge, I also express my creativity through large-scale paintings in my studio. Teaching oriental dance on Sundays allows me to connect with others and share the joy of movement. Structuring my days with shoots, office tasks, and dance classes keeps me grounded and fulfilled.
- Why is the choice of the model agency so important, and what modeling work are you most proud of? Why?
While I've worked with agencies and agents in the past, I've found that direct collaboration with companies aligns better with my professional vision. I take immense pride in my role in an upcoming Pakistani film, where I had the opportunity to speak Urdu. This project, set for release later this year, represents a significant milestone in my career.
- Being a model, what are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
My greatest strength lies in my unwavering work ethic. However, I often find myself overly focused on details, which can occasionally challenge my efficiency.
- What inspired you to venture into the world of interior design, and how do you incorporate your personal style and aesthetic into your projects?
My degree in interior design from the John Cass School of Interior and Architecture in London laid the foundation for my passion in this field. Influenced by my mother's artistic sensibilities, I've always been drawn to the interplay of art and décor. Incorporating my personal style into projects allows me to create spaces that resonate with both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
- With such a diverse skill set, how do you stay motivated and continue to push the boundaries of your creativity in each of your respective fields?
I find inspiration in doing what I love. Each morning, I wake up driven by the passion to explore new creative avenues and challenge the status quo. Pursuing my interests wholeheartedly keeps my motivation levels high and allows me to continually evolve as an artist.
- What are your future aspirations and projects that you're particularly excited about?
I am deeply committed to exploring opportunities within Bollywood and Lollywood, fueled by my passion for storytelling through film. I remain open to new ventures and collaborations that allow me to expand my horizons and make meaningful contributions to the creative landscape.
