I feel like it was destiny. I have always been very fond of jewelry and while I was living in New York, I wanted to wear jewellery that was a fusion of contemporary and traditional styles but I could never find anything like that. That led me to create my own style and eventually it became a brand.
What makes Shafaq Habib’s jewelry outstanding and a blessing to vanity as compared to others?

Where do you look for inspiration to create intricate pieces?
I travel a lot and get my inspiration for my designs from ancient civilizations, aesthetically rich traditional cultures and works of Many celebrated artists from different parts of the world, as well as the beautiful world of nature.
How does it feel to have jewelry designing as a career?
Is it more of a feminine task or male can also accomplish a good career if interested?
I simply love it. It has been my passion for the last 38 years. Men and women both can make it a career depending on their interest and understanding for jewellery.
Your favorite creation from your collection and share what makes it special?
My personal favorite piece is the green emerald and beryl set which was inspired by motifs of old byzantine jewellery with their delicate geometric patterns. I enjoyed designing and making it.
What are some of your must have materials while creating a master piece?
Some of the materials which I use mostly are pearls, precious stones and gold. For me it is always an idea, a thought and the design takes place in my mind with color, pattern, gems. Then I design it on paper and I keep adding till I totally approve of the final product.
We would like to know about your experience while working with Iqra Aziz and Yasir Hussain. Share a little about your jewelry pieces worn by Iqra Aziz for her shoot ?
Iqra is a wonderful person besides being a very talented actress. She has been wearing my jewelry for the last couple of years and she totally does justice to whatever she wears. I get a fantastic response for my pieces when she wears them. I am now designing her bridal jewelry and wish her and Yasir Hussain a wonderful life together.
What challenges do you face mostly as a jewelry designer?
One big challenge that I face is when others try to copy my designs and sell them under their name using low quality material. I then remind myself that copying is the best form of compliment.
Any advice for aspiring jewelry artists?
My advice to aspiring jewellery artists is that create your own style and bring something new with full dedication and commitment.
