You haven’t really seen fireworks until you’ve experienced Vancouver’s Celebration of Light
Vancouver is located in Western Canada. This is Canada’s most versatile part both ethnically and linguistically. It is located by a beautiful coast and quality of life is excellent here. People migrate here for jobs and local businesses. It has Canada’s largest and most busy harbor which brings in revenue and services for the residents. Beside this harbor, it has a really breathtaking landscape which makes tourism its second largest revenue source. Owing to these landscapes, the city has captured various film production studios and academies which has turned city into similar kind as of Hollywood.
Vancouver International Film Festival
Annually, a two week long international film festival named as VIFF is held at Vancouver in late September. It is one of the largest international film festivals around the globe. This film festival’s main purpose is to run some non-profitable charities and organizations such as the organization running it known as Greater Vancouver International Film Festival Society. Other than these two weeks of September, the society organizes screening of hundreds of films and theatres throughout the year. VIFF was initiated in 1950s but then was turned down due to financial problems but then the society was formed in 1980s which relaunched the event and uplifted it to what it has become now.

The VIFF received more than one lac submissions for approval in the festival for year 2016 and also screened more than 300 films from them. This fact signifies the magnificence of festival and its importance as well. The festival is sub-categorized into three main sections named as Asian films, Canadian films and nonfiction films. Afterwards, the society awards film makers, actors, producers and almost every main categorized award.
Vancouver Festival of Lights
Vancouver celebrates festival of lights each year for three days in late July. This festival was first held in 1960 which has now become largest offshore fireworks festival. Each year, more than one million people attend this ceremonial gathering. In this event, multiple countries participate to entertain viewers by lighting up whole sky with fireworks. The fireworks are choreographed and also synchronized with respective musicals to amaze the viewers. If you’re a fireworks fan, then you haven’t seen fireworks in true sense if you haven’t seen this festival.
Alongside firework celebrations, the city also holds a musical night for these three days after sunset at its beach. This is more commonly known as Shore fest. During Shore fest, concerts are arranged and fireworks continue in the background.
