Vancouver hosted a glamorous fashion week in October 7th-13th 2019, Vancouver, Canada. This fashion week introduced us to various designers from Canada and other countries like Russia, Australia, France and India. Vancouver fashion week (VFW) is one of the fastest growing fashion weeks which has run for successful 34 seasons. Its specialty lies in the multicultural displays and selection of unrecognized brilliant artists and designers.

Claire Elisabeth
Claire Elisabeth is a women’s formal wear brand. Her designs are unique and the dresses are made to perfection and can be customized to a perfect fit. Her collection was named as CROISSANCE which means GROWTH in French. She mentioned,
“This year has been such a huge time of growth for me as a person and as a designer. The transition of college student in Texas to being an adult in New York City is the largest I have ever been through.”
Her collection was based on sheer, satin fabrics mostly. Some of them were hand embroidered; some had beads, fringes with crystal buttons. Overall, the collection had gowns, ballet dresses, cigarette pants with corsets. She has chosen a very warm color palette for her collection.
Ellen wise
Ellen’s captivating new collection was based on COLOR, MUSIC & LIGHT because of having a link with music and rhythmic mind set and as a former professional violinist, Ellen was inspired by Chagall’s passion for music, color and light, reflected even in costumes of the dancers. Ellen’s collection at VFW had floral print over silk fabrics with some hand beaded tulle, pleats and use of different textured fabrics. Julia opened for Ellen Wise in a long silk gown with a deep V neck. The gown had bold Red floral print with pink base.
Monica Sotomay aka Monica the Label
Monica showcased her collection ELEVAR at the Vancouver Fashion Week SS20. The collection name ‘Elevar’ comes from Monica’s goal to elevate women’s self-esteem by creating attires that make them feel confident about their curvy bodies and about themselves. Her main aim is to make women of all sizes and ages have the courage to accept themselves as they are! With her own take on it, as well as taking in feedback from previous designs she created a whole collection for women with curvy bodies. Her collection had pastel colors and matching sets, skirts and loose fit tops to maxi dresses. To look good, it’s not necessary to wear fancy clothes all the time, you just get up put on your shoes and look good in whatever you feel comfortable in!
Aubrey Chayson
Aubrey showcased her collection UNAPOLOGETICALLY FEMININE at VFW SS20. She chose this theme due to her past experiences as a model in Korean fashion industry. She felt unheard and was not given enough opportunity to show her skills on camera. Now she tends to be a designer and a law student. She ensures that every single person who works with her always feels heard, valued and treasured.
White, Red and Black are the collection’s main colors, reflecting the bold and powerful nature of women –and this ‘unapologetically feminine’ collection aims to remind women of their strength and will power.
Eva Rorandelli
Eva’s collection was named as NEW RESORT at VFW SS20. Evaro Italia’s new resort collection, titled “Tropical Dreams”, is inspired by the nature and all the spring summer vibes that comes along.
says Rorandelli. Large floral silks and metallic sequin fabrics transport the imagination into a fantastical world where architecture, technology and nature harmoniously combine. She chose to work on Reds and Whites. Most of her collection had sequins and a sheer fabrics and mostly long gowns.
